WP2 (In depth monitoring of emissions) – detailed research in combination with input from literature will be used to assess practices and techniques expected to contribute to a sustainable farm management. Detailed measurements will take place in experimental units and pilot farms.

In depth monitoring of emissions

WP2 (In depth monitoring of emissions) – detailed research in combination with input from literature will be used to assess practices and techniques expected to contribute to a sustainable farm management. Detailed measurements will take place in experimental units and pilot farms.

To use experimental barn units, field plots and pilot farm designs to compare emissions from housing/manure techniques, and breeding, feeding and grassland practices and techniques in case that cannot be measured on the field study farms. The focus will be on innovative techniques and tools. Therefore, an inventory of novel, innovative and promising techniques, ICT-applications and machinery dealing with emissions will take place at the start of each of the formulated tasks below. This is combined with a literature review and intermediate output of WP1.6 to establish knowledge gaps. To deal with the high costs of such research, alignment with national research programs in these areas will be sought and utilized including extensive utilisation and mining of historical data sets. Ongoing nationally funded research will also be utilized for the purpose of this project.
